Privacy Policy
For the Days Since app — last updated August 24, 2026
The short version: Days Since collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no third-party SDKs. Your trackers, their dates and your settings live on your device, and the developer never receives them.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Days Since iPhone app and everything bundled with it: the Apple Watch app, the Home Screen widgets, and the Siri and Shortcuts actions. It is provided by Steven Zilberberg, the individual developer of the app.
Information the app collects
None. Days Since does not collect, transmit or sell personal information. It has no user accounts, sends no analytics or crash reports, contains no advertising and no third-party tracking SDKs, and makes no network requests of its own.
Information the app stores on your device
Everything you enter stays in the app’s private storage on your device:
- Trackers — the name, emoji, color and creation date you choose, and any reminder you set.
- Occurrences — the dates you log, which is what the day counts are calculated from.
- Preferences — list sort order, widget tap behavior, notification settings, and internal counters used to decide when to show the upgrade screen.
This data is shared between the app and its widgets through a private App Group container on your device. Deleting the app removes it.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS. They are local notifications — there is no push server, and nothing about what you track or when you log it leaves your phone in order to send one. You can turn notifications off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Your other Apple devices
- Apple Watch. If you install the Watch app, your tracker list is sent directly between your iPhone and your Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework, and a copy is cached on the Watch. It travels between your own paired devices only; it does not pass through the developer.
- Device backups. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, the app’s data is included in that backup, and is covered by Apple’s terms and privacy policy rather than this one.
- Siri and Shortcuts. So that Siri can recognize a tracker by name, the app supplies its tracker names to the operating system’s App Intents index on your device. Any handling of your speech is Apple’s, and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Siri settings.
Purchases
Premium is sold as an in-app purchase, either a monthly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — the app never sees your name, payment details or Apple Account. It only receives Apple’s answer to a single question: whether this device is entitled to Premium. Apple’s handling of your purchase is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
Exporting and importing your data
Premium includes an export that writes your trackers and their full history to a JSON file and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Nothing is exported unless you tap Export, and where the file goes — Files, Mail, another app — is entirely your choice. Once it leaves the share sheet, that copy is yours to manage.
Import reads such a file back in and replaces what is currently in the app. The file is read directly from wherever you picked it, on your device, and is not uploaded anywhere. Because importing overwrites your existing trackers and history irreversibly, the app asks you to confirm twice before it does so.
Children
Days Since is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages, but because it collects no information at all, it collects none from children either.
Your rights and your data
Because nothing is ever sent to the developer, there is no account to close and no server-side copy to request or erase. You can delete an individual occurrence or tracker inside the app, or remove everything by deleting the app from your devices.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever gains a feature that changes how data is handled — optional iCloud sync, for example — this page will be updated and the date at the top changed before that version ships.
